Health and Safety is paramount at Baker Dougan Limited. We understand that it is as important to your project as it is to our Operatives and we are committed to ensure that this remains the forefront of everything that we do.

We are an ISO 9001 Certified Company who has been a long standing approved member of Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), Acclaim Accreditation, SMAS SSIP Worksafe and CQMS.

We have a dedicated Health and Safety Consultant and our Policy reflects our pro-active approach. With regular site visits from our Management Team we record and document Inspections and Risk Assessments to ensure that the best Health and Safety Practices are adhered to at all management and site levels.

All Operatives are provided with full personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect against Health and Safety risks at work in line with the Regulations set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

We recognise the importance of safety whilst using Machinery, Plant and Tools and therefore every aspect of our Equipment is visually inspected, Regularly PAT Tested and maintained to the highest standard.

There are risks associated with the services we provide such as Silicosis and Vibration White Finger (HAVS). We pride ourselves in educating our staff of the dangers and ensuring that the appropriate precautions are carried out so that the risks remain at a minimum.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Baker Dougan Limited recognises it’s responsibility to protect the environment. We ensure to adequately manage our works, prevent pollution and continually improve the opreation and environmental management of our activities.

We are committed to provide an Environmentally conscious specialist Diamond Drilling and Sawing service. This is achieved by promoting high Environmental Standards and the use of Environmental best practices through-out the business.

We are members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School which enables us to provide our staff with regular training and insight into the social, environmental and economic challenges we face within the Construction Industry.

We comply with relevant legislation and client requirements that apply to all our work activities as a minimum. As a Company we will source Environmentally sustainable materials, Reduce our waste, lower our consumption of energy and raw materials and maximise opportunities to re-use and recycle where possible.

Our aim is to identify and implement the training needs of all our employees and suppliers to raise Environmental Awareness across the business.
